Took a lesson with Yaphank Kid

And it was awesome!
I still suck, but I have a lot of the basics in my head now and I need to practice them.
What a decent guy Mike is.
Went well beyond the allotted hour and it was some of the best time at the range I've spent in years.
Much less shooting than I expected and a lot of theory, form and sighting.
This is SO different from rifle shooting, which is what I spend 90% of my range time doing.
I think he was more disappointed than I was that I missed the last few, but I know what I was doing wrong now.
So the next LIG trap meetup, I'll still suck, but hopefully I can start putting what I learned yesterday into better shooting.
Highly recommend Yaphank Kid.

Very cool Joe, Good to hear.
Mike definitely knows his stuff.
And your first day out shooting trap last year you were far from sucking... I remember seeing quite a few clays pulverized.
After a lesson from Mike with your new O/U I'm sure you 're gonna be rocking some very good numbers.
Looking forward to getting a LIG trap meet setup soon.

I did the intro class to trap, and skeet with Mike a few years ago. It is humbling to be shooting 10 out of 25 and then watch Mike hit 5 in a row from the hip.

Mike is a great teacher. He's so knowledgeable it's easy to be intimidated, but he's so down to earth you can't be! He gave my daughter a trap lesson. I posted about it on some other site. I highly recommend Mike. You can't go wrong!

Why anyone would hesitate and not book a lesson with Mike is beyond me.
