    If you think about what the definition of a semi-automatic rifle is (one pull of the trigger fires one round and reloads a round from the magazine into the chamber, ready for firing). That doesn’t change even if you’re holding the bolt release down. Holding the bolt release down is a separate action and very different then firing the gun.

      Read carefully the SAFE Act definition. Says something about using the energy from the previous round to load the next round. The energy remains stored in the buffer spring but it's still there even if you have to release it.
      No one ever wished they didn't have a gun.
