HK P7 and Kydex. Good or bad?

Well I finally got the P7 after being teased with it for close to 3 years. It's in very very good condition. Would it be OK to carry it in a Kydex holster once in a while? It won't be an EDC gun. Just to a range outing a few times a year. I'd just like to keep the finish in as good as shape as possible. As Dan told me, holsters arent that easy to find for this gun.
    Have a nice day.

I don't see why it would be an issue.

I find kydex faster on the draw than leather, and I'd never carry in nylon. Anyway, I just looked up the P7 on gunbroker, does it shoot rainbows or something? That is one pricey handgun.

I am a huge fan of the P7 series. Carried a P7M8 for years as it it the best handgun design ever, period. But they are out of production, collector items, and getting very pricey so using them for EDC is out.
Know your rights/Refuse peacefully to consent to a search /Ask if you are free to go or are being detained/Even if you are not doing anything wrong the 4th Amendment protects you against unreasonable searches/Never say anything to law enforcement even if you think it will help you/If questioned you should clearly and unequivocally request that you would like to have an attorney present and defer any questions until then/Never go to prison because you are afraid to go to jail.

Considering what a great and iconic gun the P7 in any iteration, why not get a leather rig for it? Kydex will definetely work but good leather is just... Classy!

It is. Hence me being a little concerned about the finish.

              Have a nice day.

Definitely not an EDC gun. Just on Christmas and my birthday.

Good point. And these days Kydex isn't that much less expensive than leather.

Hey Dan.....I checked Desantis like you said. Seems they don't offer one for the P7 anymore.

I use a Kydex for mine at the range no problem. Most ranges don't allow drawing so it shouldn't really get much wear

If you make the kydex loose by the ejection port it should not wear the finish that much.

I'm not a fan of plastic/polymer/kydex holsters - old school, I guess. They also seem to stick out too much (the ones I've tried). I do like the ones like the Supertuck type that you can re-holster easily.

I long for the old pig skin lined, real leather holsters.

Nothing. I haven't shot the damn thing yet. I want to figure out when Debbie can join me as she likes it, alot, already.
