Well I finally got the P7 after being teased with it for close to 3 years. It's in very very good condition. Would it be OK to carry it in a Kydex holster once in a while? It won't be an EDC gun. Just to a range outing a few times a year. I'd just like to keep the finish in as good as shape as possible. As Dan told me, holsters arent that easy to find for this gun.

I find kydex faster on the draw than leather, and I'd never carry in nylon. Anyway, I just looked up the P7 on gunbroker, does it shoot rainbows or something? That is one pricey handgun.Comment

Considering what a great and iconic gun the P7 in any iteration, why not get a leather rig for it? Kydex will definetely work but good leather is just... Classy!Comment

I use a Kydex for mine at the range no problem. Most ranges don't allow drawing so it shouldn't really get much wearComment

If you make the kydex loose by the ejection port it should not wear the finish that much.III%Comment

I'm not a fan of plastic/polymer/kydex holsters - old school, I guess. They also seem to stick out too much (the ones I've tried). I do like the ones like the Supertuck type that you can re-holster easily.
