Hogue’s New Laser Grips for S&W Wheelguns

Long known for making recoil absorbing handgun grips, especially for revolvers, Hogue has expanded its product offerings over the years. The diverse line now covers everything from rifle stocks to folding knives. Now the company has returned to its roots, but with a thoroughly modern twist.

Hogue officially announced the addition to its catalog of revolver grips with a built in aiming laser. Known officially as Laser Enhanced Grips, or LE Grips, these units mate a red laser with the company’s classic Monogrip.

The LE Grips design was first introduced a year ago for the 1911 style of handgun. According to the grip designer, Jim Bruhns, customer demand prompted the addition of the revolver fits.

Currently, Hogue is making the LE Grips for Smith & Wesson J, K and L frames. Grips will be available in black for all sizes. For the J-frame guns, the company also offers purple and pink. For the larger K- and L-frames, the company will also offer a dark earth color.

The laser appears to be mounted on the right side of the gun, below the cylinder. According to the company, the laser has three different modes (steady, flashing and stealth) and four brightness levels. The laser is powered by a pair of CR-2032 batteries.

Black grips carry a MSRP of $189.99. The colored versions of the grips bump up the suggested retail price to $199.95.

Hogue has been in news recently because of its problems with Wells Fargo Bank.
