2 wounded by ND in Oceanside doctors office

Two people were injured by gunfire Wednesday when one of them accidentally discharged an ammo round inside a doctor’s office on Long Beach Road in Oceanside, police said.

Nassau County police said the accident took place at 10:22 a.m. at a practice in a medical building near the intersection with Montgomery Avenue.

Police said that one person was shot in the leg, the other in the foot. Neither victim’s identity was released by police. Police said indications are that one fired round struck both people.

It was not immediately clear if the two wounded people knew each other. It also was not clear if both were patients.

Police said no one has been charged and the accident is under investigation.Nassau Police investigate the scene of an accidental shooting at 3227 Long Beach Road on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Oceanside. Saw that story. Irony of it is that the doctor who got shot in the foot is a Podiatrist.
