I bought an adjustable Magpul carbine stock for my featureless AR15 with plans on pinning it so I can "dial-in" exactly where I want it and still be compliant. Bruce is currently pinning/welding my thread protector so all that is left is the stock. I'm getting lazy and I really just want to shoot this thing so I am thinking of just buying a fixed Magpul stock and calling it good. I've watched some videos on pinning a stock and it doesn't look all that difficult. Has anyone done it before? Is it hard? Worth it or just buy a fixed?
Going by feel without shooting it, I like the stock fully extended. Where does a fixed stock fall in the range of an adjustable stock? My guess is that it is somewhere in the middle. Not fully extended like I prefer.
There is a lot of wiggle in my adjustable stock and I hate it. I assume this should disappear if I pin it. But, for how long?
Does any local LGS stock a Magpul Milsec Carbince fixed stock in black? I've had no luck so far.
