  • What is the current status of the ammunition aspect of the SAFE Act?

We all know the SAFE Act (besides it being a crap law) was written poorly and without regard to implementation.
They could not create the ammunition database so Cuomo and his RINO and Dem flunkies wrote some memo basically stating that that part of the law won't be law until they can figure out how to do it.
Does anyone have a link to the memo?
Can ammunition once again be purchased via the internet and mailed directly?Or does it still have to go to an FFL?
I'd like to see what exactly the law or this memo says.

#1. Some amunition suppliers won't ship to NY at all

#2. Most amunition suppliers will only ship to FFLS in NY

#3. There are a few amunition suppliers that will ship directly to your door in NY. Targetsportsusa.com is one of them

I can't blame any company for being cautious but i would like to read the memo and see if they can send here or not.
It might be possible it can get some other companies to send directly.
If not, what FFLS in Suffolk are good for ammo?
I think Port Jeff does it. I forget what they charge.

        • Jerry's Firearms & Supplies (Bohemia) - $15 (may vary based on size of order - I usually get 1,000-1,500 per shipment).
        • PJAN (Port Jeff ) - I believe they charge $0.01 per round.
        • Camp-Site (Huntington Sta.) - free ammo transfers, but you may not make it out with just ammo...
        • L.I. Ammo/Karp's (E Northport) - just PM them since they are a sponsor too!
        Sorry if I missed anyone!

I've only done business with Jerry and Camp-Site so far, but I hear great things about L.I. Ammo and PJAN.

I thought Cuomo announced that the new NYSP Superintendent's first task will be to get the ammo database running.

Volko is in Nassau County. I think they charge $10/box (not per box of ammo but per box that the ammo is shipped in). Campsite is 100% free. They will open the box in front of you to make sure that it is ammo. After that run like hell out the door before Paul puts a 1911 that you can't afford in your hands. LOL.

I would like to express my gratitude to Camp-Site. Free for ammo shipping. Thanks again Paul. He is easy on me because I'm always pretending to not speak or understand any English.

I just checked, it is still unconstitutional.
Know your rights/Refuse peacefully to consent to a search /Ask if you are free to go or are being detained/Even if you are not doing anything wrong the 4th Amendment protects you against unreasonable searches/Never say anything to law enforcement even if you think it will help you/If questioned you should clearly and unequivocally request that you would like to have an attorney present and defer any questions until then/Never go to prison because you are afraid to go to jail.

I used TargetSports a couple of months ago; great customer service and on-time delivery. Good prices too

MOU means absolutely dick. Can be withdrawn or nullified at any point in time. It's just a smoke screen until they figure out how to implement the ammunition database and background check system because the Federal NICS unit told them to pound sand on using their system for checks.

So what does that mean... well technically you can probably receive ammo at your door again. But it's not real explicit if you can. So it's a grey area. Which means some sellers are not budging in their original interpretations of the law. Some are changing.

But it can and will be altered without warning, that I will guarantee you. We will get the notice that the Superintendent of State Police is giving his 30 days notice to get into the ammo system for all sellers of ammunition and then shit will hit the fan.

There's no funding for it and there's an MOU in place currently. So technically it is legal to have ammo shipped to your door...for now. At least by my interpretation.
