    WWII Weekend in Reading PA.

If you're into WW2, or into WW2 aircraft - this was an awesome show. 100's of reenactors in their individual encampments, dozens of women in era garb, battles, aircraft, numerous WW2 Vets telling their stories in individual tents, including airmen, sailors, Marines and a concentration camp survivor. Many things going on at the same time. While you're watching B25's take-off, a platoon of Russians march by you singing Russian songs. Jeeps, halftracks and even a Sherman tank run around all day. You walk around the planes, they eventually taxi and take off, fly for a while, then return and you can sit under them for shade as you eat. SO cool.

That is really cool. The black and white photos are a great touch. Looks like they could be 70 years old.

The only jets that were there were a pair of "unscheduled" A-10's that did a few passes for the crowd on their way elsewhere (I wasn't prepared to photo them) - love the A-10! There was even a visit by President FDR who said a few words about the war, as well a Gen. MacArthur, Admiral Halsey and a young Lt. j.g. John Kennedy. There were more Garands, Carbines, BAR's, Browning 1919's, trench shotguns, Mosins, Arisakas, MG34 & MG42 and K98's that you can count - that made me feel like my personal collection was truly unimpressive! Many reenactors would talk about the small arms and you can even watch them break down and clean their firearms in their camps.
