CMI makes the best M1A mags available. Great company, owner is also very pro 2A from what I have heard.

Check Mate made lots and lots of Beretta 92 mags for Beretta. They are effectively factory mags.

If someone has a contact there let's organize a field trip and tour.

The sad part is that Long Island used to have many large Military contracts , companies that produced things and people that worked at producing them.... We had skilled labor... now an economic plan for Long Island is to build townhouse communities and reinvent the Nassau Coliseum to include gambling.

As said, they make high quality mags for M14 variants and I'll buy some 20 rounders for my M1A the day I leave this forsaken state. I'm sure the 92 magazines are top notch also. Who would guess a wyandanch business would be so highly regarded.

Huh checkmate mags are made right here in Crimedanch... who knew.

If you've ever had an MRE the "flameless ration heater" included is made in Riverhead in a small unassuming factory just off east main street.

The early Checkmates didnt have an internal coating that was critical to its proper functioning of the M9 magazine spring and follower. As I recall some moron(s) in DOD contracting unit were told by Checkmate that the coating was listed in the original specs/bid as necessary but the newer one provided by DOD at the time CMI was awarded contract for production didn't have coating listed as necessary and DOD told them to make them as specified on contract even though DOD knew the mags wouldn't work correctly ! I mean WTF!!! Check mate took alot of unecessary grief regarding that fiasco and it was totally not there fault. Those in DOD that caused this should be in Leavenworth.

                        Like these?

On second thought, I think these are Army mags since they only hold 15. I heard that the Corps rocks 17 rounders.
