    .22 LR scopes

Why are .22LR scopes different than big gun hunting scopes? I would have thought a scope is dependent on what magnification you want & distance, & quality of the glass; & not dependent on the caliber ?

They can be built less expensively due to the low recoil requirements.
You can put a $2500.00 night force on a .22 but it also doesn't have the range to take advantage of the high magnification

I put a cheap (less than $150) 6-24x44 scope on my target 22. Works just fine as long as I stay away from the highest magnification, things get fuzzy there.

I have a $100 bushnell on mine. Works fine. Low recoil and short shot range make it a perfect for a cheap scope.

Cabelas makes one for 100 and one for 50. We have 2 and love them

22 scopes are cheaper because they do not need to with stand the recoil and force exerted from larger calibers

22 scopes usually have the parallax corrected to a shorter range than 'regular' scopes. 50-75 yards vs 100-150 yards.

I have a Bushnell Banner on one of my 10/22's it was somewhere around $100. It's basic and works great, realistically I won't being shooting far enough with it to justify spending the cash on a higher end scope.

A really popular scope at my Club ( Sara Spa ) is the Nikon Pro-Staff EFR 3-9x 40 AO! I have 2 myself ,on my RAR and my 96/22! The Club has three on RAR's from a Grant from the NRA! Must be over 20 members with them.

                  For Benchrest target shooting I have a Ruger 77/22 ( sporter class ) with a Weaver T-24.

I put a $30 Bushnell on my 10/22 that I just bought from Walmart. It was a big improvement over my tasco 4x15 that I put on it when I bought the rifle. I usually only shoot at 50yds so for me it's fine. After dialing it in, it hits the bullseye.
