Using phone as a spotting scope

I bought this 16 x 50 monocular for about 22 bucks. It came with the adapter for the phone. And the tripod., I'm only shooting at 50 yards so it should be adequate.

    Cool,

let me know how it works at 100 yards if you get a chance

So the idea of the phone is so you don't have to move from your bench to see where you hit?
        That's pretty cool.

Read the 1,2,3 star reviews. But then again, what do you want for $22. With Amazon return policy, might still be worth a shot though.

Agreed, who cares for that kind of money.
For spotting at 25-50yards at Freeport (I assume), I doubt anyone can go too far wrong.
OP, I'd be interested in a range report once its been tried on the line.

This looks more interesting if you already have a decent spotting scope. Think of the fun you could have shooting toy figurines at distance on video.

That's pretty high tech for a youngster such as yourself. Let me know when I can try it out indoors at our home range. I got this idea that it could replace the spotting scopes all of us one hand shooters use. That and have a video record of the target. You know where to find me.

Is it a PIA to set up? Use?

Great idea but poorly executed and I'm sending it back. For one thing I don't think it is truly the magnification it is labeled although and 50 yards the target was quite visible. Mounting hole for tripod strips easily. You get what you pay for
