Steiner.jpg Steiner Optics of Greeley, Colorado, has begun commercial sale of a close-combat rifle scope previously only available to law enforcement agencies.
The company 17.3-ounce P4Xi 1-4×24 rifle scope is ideal for three-gun competition rifles or personal defense weapons, providing clear images and a fast-action P3TR reticle for everyday use. The illuminated reticle offers 11 different levels — five daytime, four low light and two night vision settings — with an off position between each setting.
The scope also provides true 1X magnification for both-eyes-open shots, as well as 4X zoom for targets out to 400 yards.
The one-piece, 30mm tube with a matte anodized finish, has an overall length of 10.3 inches. It’s waterproof, fog proof and shockproof, the company says. Its other features include a 24mm objective lens diameter, wide field of view and 3.5 inches of eye relief, low-profile turrets and illumination controls.
The suggested retail price for scope is $579.99.

Will this turn my hunting rifle into an assault rifle?

No just a Sniper rifle, you need the big clip mags for that.

Steiner makes some great glass. I don't own one of their scopes but have tried them on others rifles. I do own Steiner binoculars and love em.
I would buy either this Steiner or the Leuopld AR Mk Mod 1 if I looking for a low power scope.
