    Apex Barrel for M&P 9

Has anyone switched their M&P to an Apex barrel, either the semi-drop in or gunsmith fitted barrel? An acquaintance mentioned them and I did a little YouTube research but wanted to check with you guys.

IDK about Apex but I have a KKM Precision barrel for my .40 and it's great.

What's wrong with the factory barrel?

Nothing really. Just curious. I'm told they are more accurate and thought I'd find out more. Mine seems pretty accurate to me but I'm bored and poking around.

I have an Apex trigger in my M&P 9, went with a storm lake barrel for it. Love that pistol, my first and favorite.

There were some spotty accuracy issues with some early production batches but I assumed they (S&W) rectified this with later made guns. Shoot your gun with quality ammo, see which one it prefers than work out if you need a new Bbl. BTW Apex does make excellent triggers for S&W so no doubt its a quality bbl but if you don't need it, why throw away money that could be spent on training and ammo??

I'm not a big fan of S&W semi-autos throughout the years, then I became an M&P armorer (8 hours class) and felt that there seemed to be too many parts (I'm also an armorer for other pistol/rifles systems). But after owning a full-size 9mm with an APEX trigger - I'm impressed with its fit, feel and performance. In free states, carrying 18 rounds with a flush-fit mag doesn't suck.
