I truly am not trying to start a war, but since it is a striker fired gun, with a similar price, thoughts on the Shield vs. Glock in this .45 ACP? I have not purchased anything but Sigs for a long time (I am completely addicted) but I have to feed the beast. Either a micro 9mm Sig P938 (I realize that has nothing to do with a .45) but I do not own a .45, and I do not own a Glock. I do have .380's, 9mm's, .357 Mag's, 357 Sig's, and .40 S&W. Thoughts?

I can forgive for not owning a Glock but not owning any handguns in the fabulous 45acp?? Totally unacceptable I hope you reverse this trend soon and invest in something chambered in 45 acp (several in fact) . For carry size check out the Glock 30, 36, and the M&P 45 c . Sig makes magnificent 45's..And of course...the world of 1911's awaits you. And while not striker fired but no less worthy of consideration and my personal favorite the HK45 compact!
Believe me I know that I am missing out big time. The first handgun I ever fired was a 1911, which was owned by my father's extremely cool friend. He took me shooting upstate NY. My dickhead father told him to keep me to the .22's, which I was already doing competition in. The guy didn't listen to dad. I had a Kimber in my hand, and my LGS told me to hold off, Kimber had a change in management, and QC was down. I didn't want the Sig, I wanted a Kimber, Dan Wesson, maybe Wilson Combat. I am pissed that I don't have one, and this was a wake-up call. Thanks for your post!
Kimber scares me...everyone I ever hear talk about them has problems and has to send them back for tweaking or corrections. I love Dan Wesson! Was my first 1911.
Very nice. I wish I had my permit. I was looking at the Springfield XDM compact when it arrives. But that looks very nice too. Well, I have plenty of time to think it over.
