    Ruger 22/45 Lite: NRA Edition

Sturm, Ruger & Co. teamed up with firearms distributor Davidson’s to sell a limited edition 22/45 Lite to benefit the National Rifle Association (NRA). These NRA pistolscarry a suggested retail price of $537. According to Ruger, a $20 donation is made to the NRA with each gun sold.

These pistols are functionally identical to the standard 22/45 Lite handgun. However, these sport a bright red anodized finish, red and gray laminated grip panels with the NRA logo and have another NRA logo on the back of the bolt facing the shooter.

Additionally, the guns come in a cardboard box with the NRA logo on it. The pistolshave been given special serial numbers in the following format: NRA3XXXX.

If you are not already familiar with the 22/45 Lite line of handguns, they are .22 LR pistols that combine the company’s experience in rimfire firearms with the grip of a 1911-style pistol. The grip panels are even interchangeable with other 1911 stocks. The barrels are threaded for the addition of a suppressor.

If you like the color red, but do not want the NRA edition, Davidson’s also sells another 22/45 Lite with the same anodized finish. This model has standard dark gray grip panels and deletes all NRA logos. This logo-less version of the pistol is slightly more expensive with a suggested retail price of $552.63.

The pistols are offered through Gallery of Guns. Ruger previously supported the NRA with special edition 10/22 rifles and LCP pistols.
