    Sig P226 .22 Conversion Kit???

Thinking about a.22 conversion kit for my Sig 226. I've got a nice S&W 422, but I'd sure like to use my 226 in rimfire for plinking, target warmup, and simply getting gooder, better, best with the trigger.

I had three of my Sigs to the range Sunday (226, 2022 and 320) and the 226 is the sweetest (thanks Sig Custom Shop).

Anyone have any comments, advice, history with one of these? From what I've read there shouldn't be any problems, except the slide isn't held open after the last shot.

I just registered my newest Sig, the 320, so I've got a 20% discount coming to me, which puts the price at $228. I haven't done a lot of comparison shopping, is this a decent price?

    They are picky with Ammo.
You need to run cci minimags for best reliability.

I was also thinking about it but with just OK reliability and pretty steep price I decided that for just a little more i can get a good dedicated .22 gun.

I don't see a lot of advantage to this. The price gap between .22 and 9mm is narrow these days, and you should only train to shoot with what you actually shoot. So I have shelved - probably permanently - all my .22 conversions.

Cheap .22 goes for 0.06 per round and cheap 9mm around 0.16 I'm not sure if you searched lately for any ammo but if you are not reloading it still much cheaper to shoot 22 and fun and you can easier involve some one new to try shooting.

For Remington Golden Bullets, sure. But most of the kits don't work well with anything other than CCI MiniMags. That's about 10 cents per round. Cheap commercial 9mm is about 20 cents per round. Yes, it's 100% difference, but the training experience is much different.

I have them for the Beretta 92, Glock 19, HK-91 rifle and AR-15, with similar results.
