  • Norway Colt

So I posted a picture of a revolver, a lever and a bolt action. Now it's time for a really odd firearm.

    Konsberg Colt 1911 Norway

1941, Made in Nazi controlled Norway.

Konsberg made the 1911 under license from Colt starting around 1917. By 1940, Norway was under German control. The Norwegians continued to make the 1911 at the Konsberg factory even under German control. This pistol was one of about 4100 made in 1941. The barrel, trigger, frame and slide are all matching numbers. No Nazi markings, the German produced pistols were not marked with Nazi stamps until 1945.

Marked 11.25mm on the slide equivalent of .45acp.. These are exact matches to a fullsize Colt 1911 barrel, 5”. The pistol is in very nice shape for its age.

Smells like a firearm forum now doesn't it?

Is that the one you have in the shop? I took a look at one a few months ago. I also looked at a number of other WWII era .45s. The 1918 with the stag grips caught my eye too. Very nice batch of pistols you guys have there.

Yes it is. I'm not too excited to sell off our cool guns, but Kim is on my back to get moving and get them sold. So before I sell them, I thought I'd share some photos with the group. The forum needs interesting gun photos to start its archive, so I think I'll put some up. No need to post prices, it's not a straight sales pitch, I just want us to have the pictures when the guns are gone. I love to see old gun pictures, I hope you guys do too.

This is like Pate's bat signal. I am guessing he is already driving to you.

Didn't he tell you? Pat's renting a room upstairs from the gun safes. That way he can hear when they get opened in the morning.

I was looking at pictures of those a few months ago, wondering if I could get someone to make a similar slide lock. All the pros of an extended one without the cons of an extended one.

That gun is in some pretty bad shape. I'll take it off you hands cheap and get it Cerakoted in a nice digital camo pattern.
