zmpt s chance. With my luck I'd win accidentally and I don't have that kind of coin laying around.

If you won at that number where it is now, you would have stolen it and send it to rock island auction and make $40-50 k

          SOLD. $50,050

I know very little about vintage 1911 values - but I thought this would go for $20K more than this.

Must be nice to have that kinda dough. The new owner is now certainly a protector of history.

It was an interesting night on the auction block. This pistol and one other on go from the same seller went very cheap and the other 3 he offered went fair price

Meanwhile on GunAuction one seller I watch weekly all his auctions went absolutlely nuts in the last hour and what seemingly had no real buyers all went to levels I never thought they would go.

I was on a 1916 rare 1911 but dropped off about $2k below where it sold and 3 late bidders jumped in and took it to I think a fair price. I did pick up an extremely rare pistol for a very low price imo and I’m happy with that one. The USMC 1909 colt in 45LC went nuts and to over $13,500 which I was surprised ‘but only 1300 made and how many are left and how many in high condition? Can’t be many. And they all went to the Philippines so the climate wasn’t favorable for the finish.

                        Interesting night
