Glock 26 or XDS mod 2?

Right now I don't have a 9mm and I am thinking about getting one. I have narrowed my search to two.... the G26 and the XDS mod2. I had a G26 and like a dummy, I sold it a friend a few years ago. Since the Safe Act went into effect, my EDC has been and XDS in 45. Now that I am out of NY, I can carry as many rounds as I want.

As far as SHTF, a 12G pump, an AK-47 and a 9mm Glock might be the perfect combo. I have 2 of the 3.

You consider the new shield in .45?

Neither. HK VP9. When paired with a good belt and holster it practically disappears.

I used to have a 9mm Shield as my EDC, but being lefty (or cursed) the mag would release if I leaned on a kitchen counter. Happened a few times and I switched to the XDs 45.

The Glock Gen 4 and the SA Mod 2 both have ambi mag releases and that is important to me.

That wasn't one of the choices. XDS or G26.

              Personal opinion, YMMV.

The XDS is more fun to shoot, handles better, less flip etc. My two carry guns are an XDS .45 or a .38 revolver depending on my attire. With the extended mag it holds very nicely in my hand.

However, the Glock can't be beat for carry as a self defense gun, half a trillion days of LE experience around the globe can't be wrong. I don't love the grip, and not nearly as much fun to shoot (my opinion) but as reliable as Hillary's lie-a-day program.

I had a Glock 26 about 10 years ago. I did not like it one bit. 2 weeks ago I bought a XD Mod.2 in .40 S&W. Feels great in the hand but did nit get any range time with it yet. Just got confirmation that my disc re-herniated and I need to go under the knife again.

The XDS is a single stack. The Mod 2 is a double stack. 2 different pistols.

It all comes down to what feels better in your hand, regardless of who says one pistol is better than another.

Since you had a G26 you know how it handles. Keep in mind that in a pinch you can use G19 or even G17 mags in it. Gives you options and flexibility. Did you like your G26 when you had it?

That being said, the XDS is a good pistol too. Good shooter, comfortable.

I have a Raven Concealment holster with tuckable loops and a Wilderness riggers belt.

XDS and XD Mod 2.0 are two different guns, which one are you looking at? I'm not 100% familiar on Glock nomenclature so I'm not sure if you're comparing apples to apples.

I edc my glock 26 and I like it. I use a Desantis dual carry holster and it's comfortable.
