picked up a HK VP9 today to compliment my PPQ

two eerily similar guns but with enough differences in enough places to make it worth checking out. Have put about 1000 rds through the Walther. and straight up love that gun, love tha trigger, love that grip. Put tritiums on it - great sight picture.

HK - feels sooo good in da hand. great sight picture out of the box. nice balance. trigger is really nice but still feels loose compared to PPQ - too much take up and some over travel. But we get used to everthin, dont we ?

    both sized for [comfortable] carry

Looking forward to letting some rds loose down range to check her out.

NICE. According to the gun rags/internet, two of the best full-size pistols out there.

I would like to see pics comparing them and maybe some range comparisons.

Very nice. Would like comparisons too. On or the other is on my short list of next pistol.

since I haven't shot the HK yet I can't speak about it but I do know that you absolutely can't go wrong with the PPQ.
Neither are that big that they can't be EDC

Wise choice. It's a great little pistola you won't be disappointed.

I shot a friends VP9 next to my PPQ. They do feel very similar in the hand. The PPQ has a smoother trigger. Which tritium sights did you put on it. I just ordered Trijicon HD for M&P and if I like them put then on the Walther.

I just got one too. I like my P30L so I'm looking forward to this!

Love my VP9... my go to pistol for classes, etc... about 2,500 rounds so far and (knock on wood) not a single malfunction. Dropped in the dirt and sand at Calverton many a time during classes and keeps on going... enjoy it!

I have one and have shot it fairly enough. As far as fit and finish, I don't think you can do much better than H&K. Ergonomics are also one of the best there is. Out of the box, probably the best striker fired trigger. All of that being said, a Glock with a 25 cent trigger job and a Ghost Edge connector ($25) has a MIUCH better trigger than H&K. Now watch this video. It does not fair well in the elements. Glocks typically pass all of these tests with flying colors:

I've been carrying the VP9 for about a year now. It's been exceptionally reliable under normal conditions. I figured now was the time to test the VP9 in adve...

Funny, I feel like I'm sticking up for a friend or a child of mine! That video set off a firestorm and generated a ton more YouTube videos proving how asinine that video was... anyone can push any firearm to the point of failure. Let's jam more shit into the slide and firing pin channel... maybe take a shit on it for good measure. Maybe we should send it into space and let it burn up during re-entry and see if it still fires...

Even the beloved P226 MK25 is supposedly good enough for the US Navy Seals, but can't make it through a defensive pistol class without binding up with sand (ask Pitbull428 ). Luckily he had his Glock 17 as a backup. Here's a nice rebuttal to that MAC video:

The video speaks for itself. The VP9 is unfazed by water, and it was something else that disabled the Military Arms Channel VP9 in that 'test'.As for you saf...

... and for those that lose sleep at night and are concerned about the unlikely possibility... HKparts.net has a new titanium slide plate cover that completely seals the back of the slide (yeah, I know, like a Glock) :

To be honest, I am very skeptical about that video as well. H&K makes some of the best firearms on the planet. I would have zero problems relying on it to save my life.
