Which 9mm 1911? Colt or Springfield?

Got it narrowed down to either: Colt Government Model Competition or Springfield Range Officer Operator.

Anyone have any experience/opinions/comments on either or both?

Will be getting estimates from my LGS in WA state this week and maybe some advice from here will help me decide.

I'm a Colt man, personally, but I don't think you will go wrong with either from what I've read.

I don't own either one in 9mm though.

The colt competitions are pretty awesome, good bang for the buck. Ready to go outta the box. Although I'd replace the weird blue fiber optic front site they have on it(comes with replacements)

Never shot either, but I would go Springfield as there seems to be a lot of options and value

Have a Springfield match target in 9mm, stainless only real difference from RO. Has never given me a problem and accurate. Only suggestion, get rid of the ILS and the heavy main spring much nicer shooter then.

Colt. Can't go wrong with the original.

Fuck it, since this site is filled with hell raisers, I'm just gonna say it......

You have two hands, why not get both?

Colt Competition is tough to beat for the money. Having said that, I'm loving my RIA 9mm 1911.

Seen more than one SA RO that had to go back.

In 9mm I would say Springfield but I have to agree with Steve. The RIA in 9mm is a good buy I love mine. I did a bunch of work on it but it wasn't necessary.

Love the Springers. Dawson Precision 9mm and RO operator in .45.
Shot the Colt Competition. Nice gun for the money too.
                              Either will serve you well.
