Looking for New Sights - Dan Wesson Valor

Calling all you 1911 buffs... Been shooting my Dan Wesson valor for about a year. Love the pistol but not very font of the Heine Straight Eight sights it comes with. The front post is really thin and the white front post isn't big enough for me. I really have to concentrate on the front post to focus on it and I get eye fatigue after every range session.

So I've had enough. Looking for some solid high viz fixed sights that fit the Dan Wesson Valor.

I'm thinking XS like I have on my glock but I like my Ameriglo Pro i Dots better on my shield. But I'm leaning more towards a fiber/tritium front post.

Shoot me some legit recommendations that will fit the Dan Wesson Valor.... <-------- read that... don't fit the Dan Wesson Valor I'm not interested and your post will be terrible and you should feel bad.

Don't think they go with the heine rear sight. If so what height?

I have a Dawson front like that on my Springfield Combat Operator with a Henie 10-8 rear sight, it did very well in the competition I used it in. The height really depends on what ammo you are shooting through the gun and what kind of hold you want. You can always measure the existing one to get a good baseline.

You running the Heine 10-8 or straight eight rear? Looked on Heine's sight and it's only showing straight eight

What size dawson you running? Looks like my sight is .190 tall x .125 wide. Closest thing to it on Dawson's sight is .175 tall x .125 wide. Is that going to throw off my POA/POI that much? I do have to float the front sight right now because it shoots low. This may bring it up to my style of shooting.... dunno.

Did you try their sight calculator on their site?

Your DW does not shoot low. It has a combat cut front sight. It was designed to float the dot, Just like the Sigs.

I'm not a big fan of the sights

I believe my front sight is .190x.125 wide, with a 10-8 Performance .140 U Notch rear sight. Hope that helps you.
