My son asked for this for his birthday

So I went out and bought it, telling him for all intents and purposes it is his gun and as soon as it’s legally possible, it will be transferred to him.
    1911 purists beware. It’s a full size .22LR trainer.

A 1911 platform shooting .22 is lots of fun. A nice wheel gun in .22 is right up there too.

It was between this and a revolver and he chose this so a wheel gun is in his not too distant future. He loves shooting my S&W Model 36

They make 2 versions. The one I bought does not.

My GSG is one of my favorite pistols, and a perfect trainer. Used to be able to get a good deal once a year from Sig(they sell the same exact pistol) on spare mags, but have not seen those deals repeated in about 5+ yrs.

I have that gun in the version you mentioned. Guess I won't be giving to my son when he's of age huh (unless we're both the fuck outta this shithole state)? And yes, IT IS a registered EVIL ASSAULT/ ASSASSIN weapon per NYS

Nice gun. I have one also....bought maybe 10 years ago.

As an FYI, mine had a bunch of overspray on the slide AND frame rails. I used 600 grit sand paper to remove it. Finished with 1000/1500 grit. Reassembled with Flitz on rails and without the recoil spring and cycled about a billion times ( actually, only about 5 mins worth). Functions better IMO.

          As a 1911 lover...I can say you've got a smart boy. 🙃
          Have a nice day.

Came here to suggest this. I had the same problem.

Also it’s the simple things, keep it clean. Mine has always run well with mini mags. Never really tested standard velocity in it.

I have one and it my favorite 22 pistol. It always comes to the range with me. Happy Birthday to your son!

Hmmm....with the Colt 22 conversion sets getting so damn pricey, I may leave them in the box and get one of these...

If you have a gold cup, the triggers don’t compare.

Dads gold cup comes in at 3 1/2 lbs or so. My ati comes in at 6 lbs 5 oz

Same here about ten years or so ago. Think it was a group buy if memory serves on the Canadian site. Was inexpensive and has functioned well. Nice little plinker.
