    Any Dan Wesson owners?

I have a specialist on the way and will finish up paying for my vbob by the end of this month. Both are stainless because it's about $300 cheaper than duty coat and I like stainless better anyway, so it's a win,win for me.
Anybody have DWs? What do you think, how's the break in. After I bought them, that's when I read DWs stainless scratches easily. Is that true in your experience?
Just would like to hear what other owners think of theirs. For comparison, I have 3 colts and a desert eagle 1911. I'm expecting these to be a notch above them, but I've never seen one in person.
    Thanks.

I don't know how I put this in the revolver section. Sorry. How do I move it? Can a mod do it? Sorry again.

I have a Valor V-bob in SS. It's an excellent gun. I don't recall any issues during break-in - it's always run flawless for me. As far as the SS finish goes, all SS can scratch pretty easily. Not something that's unique to DW. I've had mine in a kydex holster for a few matches and it does have a slight marring on the slide near the muzzle. Nothing that noticeable, but it is there. Rest of the finish is pretty much flawless.

One thing you will find is that the DW is fit much better than a Colt. In my experience, the Colts felt sloppy compared to the DW. The DW is considered a semi-custom gun, so I would expect that to be the case.

Congrats and enjoy! I have the Specialist in SS on my newly established 1911 wishlist!
Just got my first 1911 (SA TRP Operator in black armory kote) last month... next 1911 will probably be SS!

I purchased the DW Specialist as my first pistol back in 4th qtr. 2014. I absolutely LOVE it. I've acquired several others since then but its still my favorite. The fit and finish is exceptional. Such a sweet shooter. I followed the manufacturer suggestion for the break in. I experienced no failures. I have about 2000-2200 rounds through it to date. The finish on the stainless is bead blasted so its NOT bright or shiny like a polished 1911 would be. I haven't had any issues with scratching.

I have a few Dan Wessons. Specialist, Valor, Pointman 7&9. They are some of the best non custom pistols I be ever owned. And their customer service is top noch if you have an issue. They are in Norwich NY
We usually try and keep them in stock at Campsite and from time to time have them used. I believe we have a Vbob and 2 ECOs used right now

Think I remember someone on the other forum had a Dan Wesson, looked great but basically locked up a few rounds out of the box. Machined too tight or something, IIRC he sent it back and they fixed it no questions.

                      They are good looking pistols.

Mine runs 110% and is crack-free. It's staying! Talk to Max in a few weeks/months...

The DW on the other hand will be for sale...

Thanks for the responses. I'm glad to hear they don't scratch any easier than others. The 715 looks sick. You can use the old barrels too. I was looking around for one and found a few good deals on blemished ones, but buds dropped the price on the vbob from $1505 down to $1322 so I jumped on it. Went back up to 15+ the next day. Maybe I'll get a 715 during their next run. I'm hoping they expand their revolver line. They had cool stuff, 357 maximum and the .445. I'd be nice to have another option other than smith, ruger and taurus for a revolver.
