35 Rem Contender Single Shot

That should be considered as Handgun Other! I have one with a 14" barrel and Pachmyer Grips and 4x long eye relief scope. I have taken several deer with it despite the recoil.
Anyone else have/use one or any other single shot pistol?

I hunt with mine almost exclusively. Mostly in .44 mag but also have 223, 30-30, 35, 7-30 Waters, .45/410, and .22 What an accurate gun.

I missed thread in the past. They were "my thing" for a number of years owning four contenders, a G2 and an Encore. Lost count of all the barrels and calibers that came and went along the way. It was my main focus in shooting for a while. I slowly drifted away when the area I hunt switched to rifle, having a lifetime's accumulation of rifles I never got to hunt with. (I did it backwards, most guys who handgun hunt start with rifle hunting, then switch to handguns, I went the other way). They're not all gone though, even if they don't see a lot of use anymore. I still have a few frames. What's left in barrels.... a12 inch .17 Ackley Bee, 10 inch .300 Whisper, 10 inch .357-44 Bain and Davis, 12 inch .45-70, 14 inch .358JDJ and a 16 inch .309JDJ
