That Baron Technology site has some sweet engraving on it for sure.
@OP: If you remove the slide from the frame, it's no longer a "firearms engraving" issue and that opens up a lot more avenues for engraving. What process do you want to employ? (Hand engraving for deep relief is most expensive, laser for surface making is cheapest(and can be done in full grayscale with fiber laser technology) , CNC engraving or pantograph engraving is comparable in cost to laser marking,, and electrochemical etching/engraving falls somewhere in between. The process you want to use will generally drive your decision of who to farm it out to.
