    Some bolt action gun porn....

After a misstep with the Burris XTR signature rings, and my adventure of getting the factory rail off, I finally got my new Tikka CTR 6.5CM set up and ready to go. Took advantage of some mild weather and headed to Brookhaven this morning. Mounted a Vortex PST Gen II 5-25x50 FFP on top of a 20 MOA rail and PMR rings. First Vortex scope that I've really been impressed by. Also installed an Area 419 Hellfire brake, which my shooting neighbor, after his initial look of horror when he saw the brake, said it wasn't too bad. Overall, really happy with this rig and the results. target is at 200 yards, inner circle is 1", center shots were after I corrected for wind.

I zeroed the rifle with Hornady American Gunner 140gr BTHP, but I ran out of that by the time I got to 200. I shot this group at 200 with Federal American Eagle 140gr Open Tip Match, which I think performed better than the Hornady, but I'm not certain of that; I could have been concentrating more on the longer shots than I was at 100. I've bought a variety of ammo to see what this gun likes. Will try that next time. Yesterday was just to zero the scope and see how it did out to 200. I'm pretty pleased.
