    Winchester 52D

Hope someone can help me with a 52D I'm looking at for my first Winchester 52. The serial #109569D with U S electro penciled on receiver and serial # electro penciled on top of Bolt, heavy barrel, Flat muzzle (no crown) and Olympic front sight with Redfield rear sight plus hand stop. Rifle is in very good condition with minor scuffs on barrel and a few marks on stock. The local gun shop wants $1100 and I don't know if it is worth the price.

I've had that rifle for 50 years. I love it. Last time I checked it was worth $1800, depending on condition. I almost gave mine to my nephew until I realized what it was worth.

It's important to have the condition of the bore checked . If it's good and most of the bluing is good it is worth it if it had no major modifications. Mine dates to 1949. A few years ago Cabelas offered me $500. I don't think so. Make sure it has a mag. Extremely difficult to find and if you do its at least $100

The 52D has no mag it's a single shot. The rifle has all its accessories, it just needs a little TLC. As for the bore/barrel I will need to scope it.
