  • MDT Chassis System

Looking at the LSS-XL for a 26" heavy barrel R700. For stock, pistol grip, chassis, and 2 10rd Mags Im around $700 max. A few questions.

Anyone here have experience on the system (good or bad)?

Is there a better, comparable system in that price range (up to $750) that gets me set up the same?

I recently bought a savage 10fcp. Also purchased a MDT LSS-XL from Paul at campsite. Took it to the range and was extremely happy with the results vs the accustock

grouping on on the right (tight group) is at 200 yards. .5" group at 200 yards (308).

Talk to Paul at Campsite. They had one and I am sure he could set you up.

I've worked with MDT on and off from the time they began importing into the US. They make a solid product that offers a good value for the money.

The LSS and LSS-XL are hard to beat. If you want a colapsible stock, get the LSS, for a fixed stock, get the LSS-XL

The HS3 is worth a look as well.

Any opinions on MPA (Masterpiece Arms) chassis vs the MDT?
You know what kind of people I really don't like?

Adding an XLR Element to the list of contenders. Did a quick run through on their site for the stock, grip, 2 metal ai 10rders, and the chassis it's $825 including shipping. I'm willing to jump up the $75. Reading really good things about the system.

You'll notice MDT is an OEM supplier for major manufacturers such Remington, Mossberg and Savage. I'm not aware of any other chassis maker with as far a reach.

Finding a decent stock that doesnt kill the 750-800 budget is rough. Going MDT would help with mags cause $40 a piece is nice. But the stock is the damaging part.

I don't follow. They all use AICS style mags. You can spend as much (OEM AI) or as little (MAGPUL) as you want on a magazine for most of these systems. Last time I looked, SS was around $400. You buy a CTR stock with riser, tube, castle nut and pistol grip for maybe $150. That is $550. Buy a $40 mag and you are at 590. I would only get the XL if you wanted a fixed stock. I used a CTR with riser on the lss I have and this it works great.

Thanks Sarge, I think I am going to do MDT.
                            I have a Savage 10FCP-SR in left hand 223.
Grab the LSS-XL, a pistol grip, a buffer tube and a Magpul PRS and a couple of AI 10 rounders and I should be good to go.

Ive got a 26" heavy barrel and Ive read that the LSS being made for shorter barrels could affect it, and where the bipod attaches is awkward for longer setups.
