    P-Man Impractical Shotgun Match 7/31

I was going to email this to the pertinent folks, but I figured I'd just post it here and they could move it over. Of course I realize now that this is over a month away still (I'm laboring under the idea that it's already the first week of July, which of course it is not. But I've already started typing.)

    FAQ

    How many stages? 7 stages.

How many rounds of birdshot? Mmm.... I dunno. Between 105 and 140?

How can you not know how many rounds there are? Because maybe I don't know how bad you suck! How many misses and make up shots you'll need? Don't go jumping to conclusions and assuming I haven't designed all seven stages yet! (or any) 17 rounds is an average. Some might be less than 15, some could be over 20. Shotgun steel stages are about flow and balance and being too lazy to put out more targets, plus there's that whole You sucking thing. Stage designs are flexible is all I'm saying.

Will the stage descriptions be released before the match? No, I just explain why, stop being a dick.

Any slugs or buckshot? Yes, 5 slugs. (Just because Postal Bob loves slugs so much)

What size shot? #6 or smaller.

Can I use a 20ga? Yeah it should work, you might just have to get closer.

Will I have to know what animals look like, count them and remember them this year? No, not this time.

Will there be that really loud fucking tube? Nope, not this time either.

Will there be that that spinning target that people with short cylinder bore barrels hate? You betcha! You're all over due for that one. But you'll be able to get as close as safely possible if need be.

Can you get back to import information like Divisions and shit? No problem.

What will the Divisions be? Open, Limited Auto, Limited Pump and Stock Five.

And what's that mean? (he asked pretending not to know)

Open: A shotgun with any of the following features: Optical sights, barrel porting or compensator, box magazine, speed feed tubes or Thai tubes.

Limited Auto: A semi auto shotgun holding up to 10 rounds.

Limted Pump: A pump shotgun holding up to 10 rounds.

Stock Five: A semi or pump shotgun, that never gets loaded past 4+1 (four in the tube, one in the chamber)

What is the start capacity and maximum capacity?

Open: Up to 10+1 to start, up to 10+1 on the clock.

Limited Auto: Up to 8+1 to start, up to 10+1 on the clock.

Limited Pump: Up to 8+1 to start, up to 10+1 on the clock.

Stock five: 4+1 to start, up to 4+1 on the clock.

What if I lose count and load too many? Then you get bumped to Open!

What if I'm shooting already in Open and I lose count? Go straight to jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200

WTF is a Thai Tube? It's a really long removable magazine tube that holds shells even when off the gun.

Do I need anything else? Your brain in gear, eye protection, ear protection and plenty to drink.

Do I have to help put away the thousands of pounds of steel targets that only a few sucker set up? Yes.

Do I have to be one of those few suckers also? Possibly.

What the heck is a P-Man anyway? Jerry P. was the P-Man.

It's a fun match and yes the tube sucked. It should have been mounted on a chair so you had to move around with your legs like an anti aircraft cannon.

It's too early for you, I know you haven't, at least not on paper anyway. Just a lot of crazy ideas swirling in your head right now.

      You suck!

But nice post with all the info laid out.

Evil beware, Postal Bob is here!

Usually they're never on paper, which is why I can't stay home and have someone else do it for me.

Ideas are easy. Ideas that don't suck is the hard part. Ideas that are safe and that you can actually build is the really hard part. I still want a stage where you shoot from a swing. Four years in, I still haven't figured out how to build it out in that soft sand or how to make it so someone doesn't blow their toes off.

Looking forward to a Great Match.
Im in w/ cylinder bore barrel. Hate that Texas Star pit. Shot some plates 4 times before it fell off. Got to get close as Safely possible. Going with 7 1/2 shot.
Slug Pit : Shot 1 oz, 1600 slugs last year. TOO Heavy. lots recoil. Anybody know who sell LOW recoil Slugs?

I think I have some low recoil slugs. You'll probably want to sight in with them. I'll be around the Brookhaven range this Friday. Let me know.

This is a great match to shoot. It's a lot of fun. Yes the loud tube suck a lot. I've shot this match with a 20ga and it is doable you just need aim well.

This match should be illegal for being too much fun! It's a fucking blast. Did my my first one last year and have been chopping at the bit since to do another.

Bring an umbrella for the sun. I have my daughter this weekend, but hoping someone will watch her so I can go blast my shotgun off. These matches are about the only time I take out a shotgun anyways

I have never shot one of these matches. This may be my first. I have not bought a gun in over a month. What shotgun would you recommend . Which shotguns hold 8-10 rounds
