Tourist puts bison calf in vehicle at Yellowstone

    calf.jpg

East Idaho News reported that Yellowstone National Park tourists put a bison calf in their car because they were worried it was cold. A father and son pulled up at the ranger station with a bison calf in their SUV. They sincerely thought they were doing a service and helping that calf by trying to save it from the cold, the report said. The tourists from another country were ticketed by law enforcement rangers.

Tourists once again have us scratching our heads in a way you may haven't heard before.

"Except the Lord build they labor in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall God governs in the affairs of men. I have lived, Sir, a long time..."

Peoples stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
Yellowstone is home to bison, bears, wolves and any number of animals that regularly get close enough to tourists whereas the people think they're just a park attraction.
I heard a story from a ranger working Yellowstone of a father putting peanut butter on their kids face so he could get a shot of a nearby bear licking it off.
Thankfully the bear didn't come near.
These are wild animals and we are in their domain. Not the other way around.
In my line of work stories come across my desk every season about how tourists get gored, bitten and flipped.
        I just shake my head.
A man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition.

I don't believe they were trying to save it from the cold. Veal, is fantastic eating or they were trying to start there own Bison farm.

What are people thinking...these animals live outside all year long, they can handle the cold...and if not it's probably sick and should die off. Leave animal conservation the the professionals.
