Burglary Suspect Who Entered Fumigated Home Dies

FREMONT (CBS SF) — A man who allegedly attempted to burglarize a Fremont apartment building that was being fumigated with a hazardous chemical Wednesday later died at the hospital, according to police.

Police and firefighters were dispatched to the 39800 block of Fremont Boulevard at 2:22 p.m. on a report of a man on the ground with difficulty breathing.

The man was initially detained in a patrol vehicle, but police said he was compliant and no force was used in the arrest.

Paramedics with the Fremont Fire department evaluated the man and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators later determined that he had allegedly spent several minutes in part of the apartment complex covered by a fumigation tent marked with “Do Not Enter” signs announcing the presence of the chemicals sulfuryl fluoride and chloropicrin.

After leaving the tent, he suffered a medical emergency and later died, according to police. The man’s name is not yet being released.

Along with Fremont police, the in-custody death is also being investigated by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.

Knowing that , next they will ban fumigation. Can't jeopardize any people regardless if they are the lowest of the low on this planet. Time to thin the herd.

True story, no urban legend, A felon broke into an apartment building, I believe in Brooklyn (don't remember because it was a long time ago, maybe 25 years) and after committing rape and aggravated assault, he tripped and fell while fleeing. Keep in mind, it would have been a justifiable use of deadly force to capture him. He not only successfully sued the owner of the building, the judge would not let the rape and assault into evidence!!!

The liars...uhhh...lawyers will claim that a big tent with "Do Not Enter" signs should have been in a 175 languages, and that a patrol of actual people should have been posted outside at all possible entrances to keep poor illiterate people out. And that emergency breathing equipment should have been available to the perp...uhhh...victim upon entrance to the tent.
