On the contrary, I took it as a potential move to make local police helpless and beholding to the feds. A national police force would circumvent the illegal domestic army dilemma. It would give the WHite House the ability to wage war on Americans with no interference from LEOs with loyalties to the population. Once that's in place all liberty would be gone.

I wouldn't want to be the guy who has to lick all those stamps to pay the postage to send an MRAP back.

I think you're reading it wrong, they are talking about lifting the ban that went into effect last year.
