its normally an elected position, you have to vote them out

overzealous District Attorneys are very common. Especially here in New York

The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of man, but only to have the law of nature for his rule ...Samuel Adams, "The Rights of the Colonists" page 419

A Missouri state senator, and the AG are calling for an investigation into Gardners prosecution of the St. Louis couple. Her ass is now on the line, as it should be. And I also saw something about Barr looking into the case, to see if the couples civil rights might have been violated.
About time these type of probes are leveled at a black person, in defense of a white person. It's always been the other way for years. The sword cuts both ways. And these liberals are going to find this out the hard way.

Realistically, I'm not too sure. Letting criminals go may be a popular course of action in St. Louis. I was there months ago and it's a shithole. Driving from the airport to their midtown area reminded me of the 80's S. Bronx - with trees.

Looks like the state AG dismissed the charges.

I’m torn on this one. The right to defend their property is supported by the castle doctrine in mo. The conservatives are spending a lot of time and energy defending two lawyers with liberal views ....these two I’m sure have voted on For democratic and liberal policies yet they are getting the benefit of conservatives fighting for their rights. I understand that we don’t defend constitutional rights for just conservatives but for everyone but it still irritates me how we conservatives will fight for everyone right but the left consistently bashes all conservatives.

They also seemed to have donated to several democrats at state and local levels but also donated to trump campaign in 2016.

One of their statements was that they fully support blm.

Watkins said Mark and Patricia McCloskey have fought for the civil rights of clients for decades and support the Black Lives Matter movement.

“It was like the storming of the Bastille, the gate came down and a large crowd of angry, aggressive people poured through,” Mark McCloskey said. “I was terrified that we’d be murdered within seconds. Our house would be burned down, our pets would be killed."

“We are Black Lives Matter people; it’s just the way they came in and were so aggressive,” Patricia said, speaking off camera Tuesday.”

                In another article ...

“According to the crime lab staff, specifically, the firing pin spring was put in front of the firing pin, which was backwards, thus making the gun incapable of firing. Firearm experts put the gun back together in the correct order and test-fired it.

                ...

Allegedly, the McCloskey’s said that the handgun Patricia McCloskey waved at protestors was inoperable because they had used it prior as a prop during a lawsuit they once filed against the gun manufacturer.

so end of the day , the protestors were not “peaceful”, the couple had a right to defend themselves as per the castle doctrine in mo, yet I’m not very sympathetic to this couple the more I find out about them. These wishy washy liberals are part of the problem that facing us today. Their support ( financial and political) of the progressives have allowed the radical socialists to take over the country but they complain when their personal rights are violated.

And the DA knew that in the end, it would be nullified by the Gov or Trump anyway.

The DA scores points with her base, the public got educated about the laws of brandishing, castle doctrine, the importance of the civil right to a gun and self defense, and, lastly, the McClosky's got educated on what the left does to their own. Everybody wins.

--Governor already on record saying he will pardon them if charges are brought. Local police opined that nothing was done wrong.

--Soros-backed DA making a statement to her constituents (St. Louis is 45% Black). BTW this DA is under investigation for other shenanigans.
