I have a similar kit from DD Ranch. It works well also but doesn't have the rear takedown pin extender which seems like a good and helpful idea. I also had a long conversation with someone at the range a few days ago who told me that my kit (and I assume this kit also) was NOT NYS SAFE Compliant. We agreed to disagree.

70 smackers, huh. That can buy a lot of lube for bubba.

Was this person from Troop L or DSI?

We used to work with the DD Ranch kit, and AR Maglock. Very familiar with how they both work. Same concept with the JFS.

The hardware included (see first picture) will replace or stand in place of the original equipment. In place of the OEM mag catch and mag release goes the JFS New Mag Catch - the allen cap screw will thread from the other side with the washer, spring and new fixed mag button in place. Once tightened, your magazine is now fixed. It will not drop with the AR closed. It will not drop with the AR broken open. At this point you will need to replace your rear takedown pin with the new JFS Extended takedown pin - with machined grooves to make it an easy pull. Remove the buffer plate, pull the spring and detent pin and swap the old with the new accordingly and you're done.

Eventually we plan to distribute a JFS Fixed Mag Kit in Flat Dark Earth.

I made the change in 5 minutes. Only complaint so far is the "button" sticks out a lot.

Great thanks! There is depth to the button, it will sit lower in a 308 receiver like an Aero or CMMG. Once complete it should look as the picture attached in this standard 223 Anderson Receiver.
