    Bacon

I didn't see a cooking/food section per se' , so figured this one best fit..

Bacon, let's chew the fat!! I prefer a really intense smoked bacon, and the best I've found was Benton's Smokehouse Bacon.. It's rather pricey, so it leads me to try others.. The Cracker Barrel Bacon is pretty good fill in for half the price.. Anyone else have any favorites??

Few years ago, while down in South Carolina on a fishing boat, we friended another fisherman. He was from Alabama, and shared his preference way to cook bacon.. Cook it on a sheet pan, bout an hour, hour half, at 275-300.. Usually turning as needed. You basicly render the fat but leave it chewy, not crispy as frying it does.. It is good, like bacon jerky..

I did a hog hunt last year and had some bacon made from that. IT was the best bacon I had. Tasted like hard work.

Years ago, old hunting partner did the same, but was able to trade all his hog meat for hog bacon at the outfitters.. Some of the best bacon I ever had..

we haven't fried bacon in years - always baked at 350 on a screen in a half sheet pan. Always crispy and less grease.

Oscars smokehouse in Warrensberg, NY near Lake George. Name your bacon craving, they make it and they ship. Let the salivating begin....
