    Traeger pellet smoker

So I picked up a traeger pellet smoker at costco this weekend. They had a road show and it was a decent deal. $350 for a junior elite with cover and a cookbook. I bought a 33lb bag of their gourmet blend pellets for $20. So far I like it but as I was looking for info on pellets I keep reading that traeger are oak or alder based, and very little of the flavor wood. A lot of people recommend other brands of %100 pellets. Anyone know if this is true or if it makes a difference. I can get traeger cherry pellets at costco or order the others online. Is it worth the wait and price for the%100 pellets? Does it actually make a difference in flavor? Thanks.

I recently bought a lot of the Traeger pellets from them also. I normally use Cookin brand from Amazon. Good price and free shipping using Prime. Make sure you use the link in our banner to order.

The hickory has a much stronger flavor than the competition blend.

Looking at picking up a large Traeger Smoker - wanted to get some reviews on the unit quality, results, experiences, etc. Any info would be helpful on this brand. My old smoker is on it's way out and need a new one soon.
