I too have an unopened bottle of Blanton's, but waiting for the right time to crack it open (whatever that actually means)
Yeah I'll give it a shot. Got to put down a couple of bottles first.

Have to kill this Russell's and the knob creek to make some space. Then restock the four roses.

Blantons im gonna wait till my bday and probably kill it after my second elbow surgery at the end of this year.

The hype is real. Single Barrel version is 10x better. Spicy, sweet, smooth.

Oh they both good. But the edge for me is the Russell's. But it's really close. Russell's just so damn smooth and tasty while the four roses is a bit more spicy with a bite up front. Either one is delicious.

          Any recent Destro sightings?

I gotta get my hands on the Russell's Single Barrel!

I recently tried the Jefferson's Reserve Chefs Collaboration; it's a blended bourbon, not a fan. I think their Very Small Batch is significantly more flavorful.

Yeah I picked up 2 more bottles of the Russell's Single Barrel to stock up. So damn hard to find. Four Roses Single Barrel is pretty readily available.

The last time I met up with him ,he spoke of some health issues. That was quite a while ago.

Snagged a bottle of Blanton’s today. The lady at the liquor store told me they are only allowed to order a couple of bottles every 3 months, very interesting.

Anyway, I’ve been looking forward to trying the WR Double Oaked for a while now. Will report back.

nice. I scored a bottle of Blantons couple of months ago. Gonna enjoy it on my vacation in a few weeks properly outside on my balcony. Assuming it doesn't fucking rain the whole time I'm off!!!!

None of this is mine, all on the shelf at my hotel. Looked interesting, I hope someone enjoys these.

                        Full disclaimer...I'm drinking scotch tonight.

However, I found a very tasty bourbon while in PA, and highly recommend picking up a bottle of you come across it!
I'm a Knob Creek fan, particularly their Single Barrel Reserve (although, hard to find). So, when I came across this, I had to try it...Smoked Maple. This is true Knob Creek, not some watered down whiskey like most flavored offerings. It's 90 proof, mixed with smoked maple, and goes down very easy; it is a very smooth drinking bourbon! You will especially like it if you like a sweeter flavor.

After reading this thread multiple times over the years I decided to try some. What I picked up this weekend to try... No luck on Blanton or four roses single ( they thought it was in back... But no luck)...

I recently really gotten into bourbons and whiskeys. He’s my current collection.

As as far as bourbons go, I really like the Blanton’s and Heaven’s Door. For whiskeys, I absolutely love Redbreast 12 year old. The Johnie Walker Blue is great as well, but at$200 a bottle, it’s a special occasion drink for me.

Busy season for me. I love four roses single barrel.

I’ve toggled between this and Russell’s reserve single barrel. And I think four roses edges it out in overall flavor. Just such a nice finish.

Blantons is still in the box. Waiting to open it on my birthday.

                                Bourbon's I've tried so far:

                                Russell's Reserve Single Barrel
                                Russell's Reserve
                                Bulleit
                                Woodford Reserve
                                Four Roses Single Barrel
                                Maker's Mark
                                Wild Turkey
Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve 120 proof

Still on deck - Blanton's. $80 for the bottle I'm not willing to open it unless it's a special occasion.

Would buy again or currently stock:

Knob Creek Single Barrel - high proof, sweet after taste after you get the burn over with. Then becomes a good sipper. Good for when you want a hard drink for a hard day. Some complex flavors and spice.
Wild Turkey - nice general bourbon that's easy on the pallet. Probably a good mixer too. Liked it better than maker's mark or bulleit.
Four Roses Single Barrel - currently my favorite. Smooth, spice, floral aroma, long finish.
Russell's Reserve Single Barrel - more of a maple brown sugar after taste and smooth. Finish is quick. Stocked a bunch of bottles due to being hard to find. The regular Russell's Reserve (white label) has a bitter after taste to me and seems like it's lacking body and character unlike the single barrel.

I have a couple of bottles of russell's reserve single barrel (unopened) I'm willing to part with to create some shelf space. Just looking to get what I paid $60 each.
