What a shock to the system!

This morning I discovered that the rear shocks were shot. I thought the ride was kinda cushy, but cornering was a little weird.
$75 and an hour under the truck and it rides...well...harder, but corners better. And the rear end went up an inch.
Wondering if I should change the front struts too.

If the height changed by an inch just from shocks, they may not have been the right size. Double check they aren't fully compressed while sitting in the driveway.

No, they are the same size. The nitrogen charge leaked out of the old shocks, I could compress them easily by hand. The new shocks I couldn't budge even when I put a screw driver into the eye and put my weight on it.

You may want to check out auto parts websites ( rock auto, AutoZone, etc) for "loaded struts" or a strut assembly. These are complete with springs also. If you go this route you can then add the spacer above the spring to level out the front end with the back. Check the brake line length to make sure there is enough flex in the rubber lines with extra height.

I'm going to go with a two inch strut spacer. This keeps the spring preload normal, doesn't change the ride. As it is I went from a ride akin to a limo to a street car.
