Anyone Have one of these? My Husqvarna gas mower took a shit yesterday, just like the one before it, so I figured Id give this one a try I must say it kicks ass, for my 1/4 acre lawn, it does a great job and I am shocked. It also has a 90 day return policy, 5 year manufacture on the mower and a 3 year on the battery, so I figured what the hell, 1 less motor to worry about and its super quiet as well

I got the Kobalt from Lowes & I love it. Even got the wife to cut the grass again. I have a 1/4 of an acre also. It cuts on one battery, but you get 2. The battery charges fast. It sounds like I'm vacuuming when I cut the lawn.

i would only buy one with a removable battery. some have that feature and some do not. if it does have a removeable battery see what other tools are availiable with that battery system

Good point! If a fixed battery craps out, the whole thing is garbage.

one reason i got a craftsman 19.2 weed eater. uses the same batteries as my cordless drills.
i also have a key start craftsman gas push mower with a built in battery, pain to replace when they die. wish they too used the drill batteries to start haha

I think they all now have a remove able battery except maybe the real cheap ones. I have done quite a bit of research on these things and the EGO seems to be the best one out there, They also have a blower, chainsaw, weed wacker that I know of which are reasonably priced, Also the battery has a 3 year warranty and new battery is around $150

This was the battery I just bought for my old Toro mower. Not a quick plug-in like with cordless tools, but just a few minutes with a screw driver and it was done. 41clJlgjIeL._SX425_.jpg Around $31 on Amazon.
My advice is to store the battery over the winter in a place where it won't get real cold. Easy to do with those cordless types.Exercise the Bill of Rights. It's good for your Constitution.

This is my second or so season with the EGO mower and weed wacker. No issues as of yet. I only have 1/2 an acre that has grass, the rest is woods. My only complaint is that it's only 20" wide and it takes me 3 hrs to do my lawn. I have 2 batteries (one came with each unit) so I charge one while mowing with the other so I can mow the whole time and not need to wait for a recharge. I plan on getting the blower for quick things like the walkways and deck (also great to dry the truck off after washing it) and save the gas backpack blower for the fall.Brandon

I don't know if you committed to the Ego yet. I would check out the Lowes model. I remember do a side by side comparison & chose the Kobalt because it was made by Greenworks & I like their products & it has a more powerful engine.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

I would be curious to try one though.

My neighbor has a new school rotary? push mower...A modern take on the old school with the exposed twisted blades.....works great, he found a german company that makes it, it's built like a tank. Powered by lefty and righty aka Manual.....aka manual labor. He just bought the newer model which has a battery and catch basket for clippings.....thing is awesome, built like a tank, but far from cheap. I think they are in the $500 range with the battery which I think is steep for a mower with no motor. The escape is nowhere near complete. The inventor of LIBERAL fishing. (soon to be seen on ESPN 45 because the 44th never worked.)
