I believe Karps had a sign that they redo screens.

What brand of windows? BE prepared for sticker shock if they are andersons or pella's....assume the same for Marvin.

I replaced some of my Anderson screens and ended up ordering from Home Dopey.....If I recall correctly, they were either $35 or & $70 each. Adds up when you have several windows!

        Andersons - Home Depot

        Pella - Lowes

If Lowes - go to the post office and get a moving packet, there will be a 10% coupon in there for Lowes.

Home Depot - I'm sure you can find 10% coupon online or something.

Maybe removed them for window A/C's? When I bought my house, most rooms had wall inserts, but the rooms that had window A/C, the screens had been removed. Fortunately, I found them all in the basement. I actually just put them back in yesterday now that I have a ladder to reach the second floor.

I do need to get a bunch of screens fixed, let me know if you find a local guy with good pricing

Most glass shops will be able to fabricate them for you or order what you need. You can have them come out and measure for fit or if you trust your own measuring just bring them one of the screens you have so they know what style frames along with the list of measurements and most will hook you up.

                what town are you in?

Jasco Industries is a window maker in New Hyde Park. I have had them make screens for us. They are also one of our customers.

One of our roofing customers just bought part ownership of a window factory in Hempstead. I had them repair some screens for me and was happy with the results. If you have any of your screens, you can see if their machines use the same thickness of the channels.

These things are not too crazy.....it's a four sided frame. One side has some leaf springs to allow you to compress and install. it then has a screen.

                Good luck!

+1 for Jasco. But I am biased as my father has worked for Joe longer than I have been alive.

Home depot carries some.. and they also have the materials to make new screens yourself. Not hard at all.... the frame comes in 6-8' lengths, then there are kits to make the frame - has corners, pull tabs and springs to lock them in...
