Pic out of the sheath ? If not to look intentionally old, the handle decorating looks new(er). You know, I gotta get it cleaned up, restored, put it on display, will take up room in my shop, I'll give you $40. OK ? Chum, write him up.
Ah, Slayer, saw them with Venom circa 1985 at Studio54, first and last metal show there, what a night.Last edited by Nordon; 08-26-2016, 04:46 AM.

The sheath is rusted onto the blade. Been working on removing it but as I mess around with it I get the feeling it's a cheap piece of crap. I can't see anyone ever using it. The handle is very uncomfortable with its squared edges and the blade seems very flimsy at the ricasso. The hilt looks like aluminum and rubber that was finished with a file.

Pic out of the sheath, close up details, etc.
Could be a decorative piece. Many countries do this for the tourist trade. Many are just "art" pieces made out of scrap and sold in local markets for tourists to hang. These are often structurally not sound (no full tang etc.). They range from really rough, like machetes in Jamaica and Africa to more ornamental pieces out of the Middle East and Asia. In Europe for instance there is a whole market of ornamental swords, sabres and axes just for looks sold to tourists even in sword hotspots like Toledo, Spain. But then again you can get the real thing there too.
