Forged in Fire Season 3 started this week. Episode 1 was 4 past winners competing against each other.
For those of you who don't know how the show works, 4 bladesmiths start forging a blade in the studio, the best 3 then make grips and finish the blades at which point they are tested by the judges for strenth, sharpness, and will they kill. The judges then eliminate one of the three and then the 2 finalists go back to create a much larger blade, typically a sword of some type at their home forge in 5 days. The 2 then return for the judges to do the same sorts of test on the new blades and the judges determin a winner.
The first episode of the first season ended with the final two competitor's blades being tested by splitting a bullet. This test was filed at the Freeport range. On the first episode of the Season 3, they filmed all 3 final tests at Freeport. The link to the full episode is below.
