Malaka approves this rescue - with video goodness

This is the dramatic moment a group of inflamed Indian villagers save a goat from being swallowed whole by a python.

The beast had its helpless prey wrapped tightly in its clutches in Bahraich, in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

Villagers wailed in despair as the snake slithered around its victim to begin devouring the goat from the head down.

Despite its strangle hold on the animal, the goat did not give up and kept fighting for a reported 40 minutes.

A passerby then finally came to its rescue after fellow locals were unable to shoo the snake away.

The man whacks the python on the head with a large tree branch in a crushing blow.

It slithers away for its life as the man continues to rain down multiple strikes.

The python makes it too some nearby bushes before disappearing into the wilderness to hunt for an alternative meal.

Indian news site Patrika stated the scene of the battle was Ghosiana Village in the Katarniaghat Forest.

        Oh please.
Like you haven't played "the goat" a time or two while the goat herder played the snake.

Poor little goat. I'm glad he was rescued. Those are some very good people.

Nice to read something positive for a change

Did you expect them to allow a snake to eat their dinner?!

Snakes creep me out. I was in BTJ's Jungle one day and the girl behind the counter put a mouse in a snake cage. I pleaded with her and she took the mouse out and it to me. True story! She thought I was nuts, which is true

                      You're calling Malaka a snake?

If he were, I see him this way.
