    Possible Simply Safe vulnerability

    A Youtuber who I watch regularly showed off a potential vulnerability with the Simply Safe alarm system, I am thinking that a lot of the wireless alarm systems are vulnerable to the same issue. Anyone have a Baofeng radio and a Simply Safe alarm system to do some testing?

    Yep, that's a shortcoming in most of the wireless systems I'm aware of. The sensors send out a single signal on open, and that's it. There is no 2-way communication with the base, and they don't tell the base when they closed or even regularly check in with the base. That's sort of a necessity be design, or else you'd be changing batteries all the time, so yes, the signal can easily be jammed.

    The SimpliSafe system in my house is not my primary defense, and it isn't set to call the police unless I hit the panic button.

      Takes about 24 - 31 hours of no contact with a sensor to show up as a problem on the console. See thread;
