Self powered Car / Dash Cam

Hey folks. I think the neighbors kids are messing with some of the cars and I’m looking for a rechargeable dash cam that I can stick in the car and see if I can catch the little bastards.

    Any suggestions?

(Ring for home won’t pick the location up)

    Thanks.

Thank you. How is it powered? Can I turn it on and leave it on all night?

it plugs into your cigarette lighter or power outlet...if it stays live when the ignition is turned off your good to go, otherwise you need to hook it up to a constant 12 volt source...here is a link to the kit for that..15 bucks... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088YWCLZS/ref=emc_b_5_t
this is from the link describing the dash cam I posted..

        Dash Cam 24 Hours Recording

This auto camera dash front & rear includes Motion Detection and Parking Monitoring. It will automatically record and lock videos when detects a sudden shake/collision, which protects your car from being scratched or stolen.

Note: You need buy a hardwire kit to achieve 24 hours keep recording. You can search this asin:B088YWCLZS directly.

Don't expect a dashcam with an internal rechargeable battery to survive a summer here. Look for a dashcam with a supercapacitor for internal power.

They all work off an external battery. Usually your car battery. Expect your car to not start if you leave it plugged in for a week without driving anywhere.

BlackVue cams are excellent. I have a set up in my truck. Covers front and back. Uploads to the cloud as well as internal memory. But you will pay for it. They aren’t cheap.
