Anybody order a safe from an online dealer?

I've tried the locals, comparing apples to apples, over $800 difference.

If you ordered your safe online, how was your experience? Any damage? Problems? Who did the delivery?

As for Safe warehouse on 110, Asher gave me an "all in price" and his boss wouldn't honor it. Asher said "he had a bad weekend" or some shit like that. So a BIG FUCK YOU TO YOU GUYS!!!

Shipped, delivered and placed? Curb delivery is a long, long way from being user ready.

Years ago from these guys. Actually it was from an ad in the back of American Rifleman. Delivered and placed where I wanted it.

      No problems at all.

I ordered a steelwater a while back. Good price for the features. Paid the delivery guy a few bucks to move it inside. Depending on where you want to place they are not that hard to move. I used 2 pieces of pvc to move it into place.

All things being equal, $800 is good coin. That will easily fund a new gun to put in that new safe...just by the gun locally🙂

I would love to move it myself, but 600lbs is nothing to sneeze at. Plus 5 steps up to my door.

I'd only let them do the delivery to the garage door, then do the install yourself for persec reasons, especially if it's a generic lift bed delivery from a generic company. Never know the turnover on those guys.

In all seriousness 600# is relatively light for a safe. On one level or walkout or a few steps up to a ranch you can move that yourself with a hand truck and straps and cardboard. For steps get yourself that thingamjib that goes up steps for fridges, etc. On smaller steps or raised thresholds I've used a piece of 3/4 ply and rolled the handtruck up. Even 800 pounds will just slide across the floor with handtruck and leverage and even slide into place with a piece of cardboard. It's the long wooden basement steps or upstairs situation that gets tricky.

I agree w Destro on the manageability of moving a 600# safe. With the right hand truck, some common sense and a plan, that is very doable.
With many, if not most safes, you can also remove the door. That is a game changer for moveability. Just be sure not to lose the shims and to replace them in the same hinge later.
Persec is, well, personal. LI ummm GC members have been known to lend a hand on projects like this.

Talk to Paul at campsite. He'll get you a good safe. Me, mcslim and uvbnaxed did my safe which weighed 700lbs.

Take the door off and it's not bad. I had to go down 5 steps..we slid it on 2x4s to get down the concrete steps. Any delivery service is going to add at least 3-400 onto of the safe price

You could also rent a stair climber.
