    Moving off of Long Island

I’m finally getting off of this island!

OK, not headed south like I probably should, but business keeps me in NY a commutable distance to Manhattan, and we found a great place in Putnam County on a few acres of land right near Fahnstock.

I understand that it is actually possible to get an unrestricted permit in Putnam and I’m wondering if anyone has any wisdom to offer on how to best go about transferring my permit to Putnam and removing the restrictions in the most efficient way possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice or experience you can offer!

Congrats! Just go to the county clerk up there and they will contact Suffolk/Nassau and get you paperwork transferred and issue you a new license.

To add, unless they feel like imposing restrictions, when you transfer it, ideally they'll just give you the carry permit. But if they do put restrictions on it, just ask to have them removed. Shouldn't be hard relative to LI
