    New Hampshire carry rules?

If anyone has info or a better understanding of the following info, please chime in. I questioned NHSP on the rules regarding CC in NH since they are a constitutional carry state and recent judiciary decisions.

After reading the supplied info I am still questioning if a permit is needed by a non-resident, and if so, if a PA non-res has reciprocity... or does NH still require you to get their state issued non-res permit? Any insight is appreciated. (I believe the first paragraph says it all, though.)

    Good Afternoon,

The information that we are able to give at this time is that NH State RSA: 159:6 has been amended making the resident and non-resident concealed carry permit voluntary.

“ III. The availability of a license to carry a loaded pistol or revolver under this section or under any other provision of law shall not be construed to impose a prohibition on the unlicensed transport or carry of a firearm in a vehicle, or on or about one’s person, whether openly or concealed, loaded or unloaded, by a resident, nonresident, or alien if that individual is not otherwise prohibited by statute from possessing a firearm in the state of New Hampshire.”

Please refer to the news portion of our website for more information and federal prohibitors: https://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/nhsp/newsevents/2017/20170222-concealed-carry.htm

For list of reciprocal states with NH : https://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/nhsp/jib/permitslicensing/plupr.html

In addition, the following is a link to the final version of the senate bill 12-FN with the details of the new law: http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_status/billText.aspx?sy=2017&id=154&txtFormat=html

Reads like you're gtg and the only reason one would get a permit from the. Is reciprocity in another state.

It's nice to have the paperwork, but you don't need it.

Imagine sending a letter to the NYSP telling them that you'll be carrying concealed and within three weeks they write back and say OK.
