    Just renewed my Utah License

Cost me a total of $23.25. including $7.50 late fee, and $0.75 convenience charge for doing it online.. Took less than 10 minutes, from the comfort of my own home. Hardest part, if you want to call it that, was getting a passport photo. As a general FYI, their renewal site will not accept a 1200dpi .jpeg, but had no issue after I dumbed it down to 300 dpi. Guess there is a file size limit.

BTW, you have up to a year to renew your Utah license after it expires. If it's expired more than a year, you'll have to go see Foosel and take his class again. Good thing I checked. I had less than two weeks.

Easier, faster, and much cheaper to renew a license issued by a state 2000 miles away, that I have never set foot in, and is recognized by 30+ other states, than it is the one I was issued by the state I have spent my entire life in.

OMG! Thanks for posting! (wish you had posted a link... LOL ) Prompted me to check mine - and I'm right with you, have about 3 weeks to go (damn, it's expired that long? shit!)

Guess what I'm doing for the next 15 minutes?

....And I'm back.... Damn I love dealing with a free State! that was easy - pleasant even!

Pic was almost easy (had to get the wife outta bed LOL!) quick shot with the phone, upload and tweak it to fit and I was done.

Good thing too as I'm traveling shortly and might need it!

Does Utah send out notifications when its time to renew?

That's new york for you. Would be AMAZING if they streamlined the process and were as efficient as Utah. Fact is, that's never going to happen here. Too much bureaucracy, too many anti-gun types, too much corruption.

It's a sad statement when a place 2000 miles away issues a license faster than the PLB that's 30 minutes away. Of course, they also aren't doing a complete rectal exam, and adding obligatory wait time unnecessarily.

Online firearm processing in NY? That makes no sense, it would ENCOURAGE applications. You must be confusing the States willingness to invest tens of millions into an ammunition database, vs something society actually needs.

My new Utah license arrived yesterday. Nine days. I think only PA was quicker.

PA was soooooo quick and easy hardest part was parking and that was no problem at all, I left there wondering why I waited so long to do it, guess I have to finally find out how easy Utah is and wonder the same thing

PA can't be beat for low-stress... The people are even pleasant to talk to - NOTHING like the nastiness we get treated with by our employees.
UTAH - simple process, but they do require you take a class - but upside is that class also covers the requirement for FL, and I think CT. (first half of the class is an NRA basic pistol) Then you send in your app/prints and in a couple weeks you get a shiny new card.

Absolutely no reason NY couldn't do the same - FBI background check while you wait - they already print the cards instantly, and take pics & prints at HQ.... We SHOULD be able to be in & out in an hour.

But the sad fact is we needed a law to get them to process applications - which is being consistently abused these days..

Renewed my Utah online as well. Super easy and came in less than 2 weeks. Prob most of us renewing now were in Fossel's Utah class.

You guys got me all panicky and I had to go and check mine- but I apparently renewed it two years ago and didn't even remember. So I guess it must have been pretty easy... I sure remember renewing my local one.

I got the renewal package from Florida the other day, so I'm going to enter the dates in my phone that I need to remember for renewals on all of my others. This might be a good move for a lot of the people here, I know many of us have a half dozen or more, all with different effective terms.
